Within the framework of the intiative Global SOFA Ekvilib is offering the opportunity of volunteer work for five persons who will mainly be involved in projects from the field of art and culture. The work will include assistance with the organization and implementation of project activities which are planned for the following months.
The work will among others include
1) assistance in the project Creative Caravan: we are searching for assistance of individuals who would like to be involved in the organization of project activities, in accompanying the members of the artistic group from Kenya which will be in Ljubljana from 7th to 14th May and a group from Guatemala which will be in Ljubljana from 1st to 14th October 2012. The groups will perform and conduct workshops in different high schools in Ljubljana where the volunteers would assist and we would also need their assistance with organizational activities and with other tasks of Ekvilib Institute.
2) Assistance at the Theatre of the Oppressed Festival in Slovenia (28th June – 2nd July): we invite all those individuals who already have experience with organization of events and also those who would like to learn those tasks. Your assistance will be needed before and at the festival, namely from the time period 10th June to 5th July 2012. Knowing of Ljubljana is an asset and so are communicational and organizational skills as well as the ability to communicate in English and Slovene languages. The festival will be an opportunity for learning and upgrading such skills and knowledge so it is an additional asset if the volunteers have interest in the field of theater techniques.
We will sign an agreement on volunteer work with all volunteers. Required number of hours per week: 8, in the time when the amount of work will be high, we would ask from volunteers to engage more hours.
Applications for the volunteer work: as soon as possible. As foreseen, short interviews with the volunteers will be conducted on 26th April 2012.

A few more words of GLOBAL SOFA (Global State OF Art) – this is an initiative of Ekvilib Institute and partners, focusing on promotion of art and culture as a tool and means to achieve sustainable social change on local – global level.
It focuses on the relationship between art, socio-political sphere and social justice and explores the power of creative expression in order to achieve political, social, personal and thus local – global change.
Global SOFA beginns with small steps with a desire for big changes.
Rok za prijavo je 13.11.2011. Z izbranima osebama bomo sklenili dogovor o opravljanju prostovoljnega dela, zaželjeno pa je opravljanje vsaj 6 ur prostovoljnega dela na teden ter udeležba na decembrskem usposabljanju.
