Open lecture at the Faculty of Social Sciences

Open lecture "Campaigns and communication activities in international development efforts in terms of human rights"

At this year's Human Rights Day an open lecture entitled "Campaigns and communication activities in international development efforts in terms of human rights" was held at the Faculty of Social Sciences.

The introductory address by the representative of the Institute Ekvilib Anita Ramšak was followed by lecturer Salvatore Parata, a representative of non-governmental development organization Terre des Hommes, which is active in the field of children's rights.

Participants were introduced to the basic principles of human rights based approach to development cooperation, its history and the 5 basic principles on which it is based. Mr Parata also presented, how the basic principles of human rights based approach relate to the activities of advocacy, lobbying and campaigning, and presented two examples of good practices of international campaigns.
