International school of project management Human rights in development cooperation concluded
Last week, with the presentation of the final projects and a diploma ceremony, the International School of project management: HUMAN RIGHTS IN DEVELOPMENT COOPERATION, organised by the Institute Ekvilib as a part of international project GREAT, was finished.
Within 60 hours of education we hosted Slovenian and international lecturers, who presented the theory and practice of development cooperation and human rights. The lecturers were: Aleš Kranjc Kušlan (Ekvilib Institute Director), Anita Ramšak (Head of human rights and development cooperation sector of Ekvilib Institute), Matjaž Hanžek (former Ombudsman), Salvatore Parata and Pierre Stephane Cazenave (representatives of the International Federation Terre des Hommes), and Kate Carroll (representative of international organization ActionAid). The lecturers encouraged critical thinking about current development efforts and outlined the practical aspects of management of development projects.
International school was mainly attended by tudents of social sciences and NGO representsatives. The participants actively took part in lectures and group discussions.
International school will be organised again in autumn 2010.
