Advocacy and lobbying

We actively monitor the development of Slovenian and European international development policy and programmes and we participate in formulation of political dialog on national and European level.

Through advocacy and lobbying activities we promote greater recognition of human rights among decision-makers and politicians and we strive for the systematic integration of human rights into development policies and practices at both national and global level. We also systematically monitor Slovenian budgetary spending for bilateral and multilateral development assistance to developing countries and we are committed to raising the quality and effectiveness of official development assistance (ODA).

We recognize that radical changes in policy and practice of developed as well as developing countries are needed in order to achieve our vision, and that is why we want to draw attention to inconsistencies and shortcomings in development policy and programmes and to give attention to good practices and opportunities, with which we can improve effectiveness of development efforts by both official donors and the NGO sector.
