International school of project management

International school of project management: HUMAN RIGHTS IN DEVELOPMENT COOPERATION is finished!

The school was organised for the second year in a row, and was held every Tuesday from 19. 10. 2010 to 7. 12. 2010.

In the scope of 60-hour education  the students attended the following lectures:

1. module: Introduction to development cooperation:

2. module: Introduction to human rights:

4. module: HRBA project programming:

5. module: Project management and the use of HRBA

Aleš Kranjc Kušlan (Ekvilib Institute)

6. module: Preparation and presentation of assignments and awarding of diplomas

With the preparation of project assignment in the field of human rights the school was successfully completed by 22 participants, including representatives from NGOs, government institutions and students.

In the course of training the participants:



- learned about the basic concepts of human rights and development cooperation;
- got an insight into the Slovenian and European development policy and practice;
- learned about the so-called “human rights based approach to development” and its application in development projects;
- learned about the basics of project management based on the principles of human rights;
- prepared their own project proposal.

The program was composed of combination of organized work (32 hours) and independent work of the participants presented in the form of reading literature (28 hours), preparation of interim and final project tasks and case studies.

Education was  conducted as a part of international project GREAT - Global Rights: Europeans Acting Together! Co-financed by the European Union.

Ekvilib Institute is seeking to employ a Project officer (m/f) in the field of culture and arts to work on the project SOC-ART, co-financed with the programme – »raising employability of vulnerable groups in the field of culture and support their social inclusion within the framework of European Social Fund between 2011 and 2012.” In accordance with the goals of the program, priority for emplyoment will be given to the citizens of third countries with migrant experiences in Slovenia.

Deadline for application is 4th October 2011!
