Project holder: Ekvilib Institute

Project partners: Svetionik

Co-financing: Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Purpose: To provide psychosocial support to children and their integration in the Montenegrin society and back into the family and starting to establish a systemic solution for this issue in Montenegro; maintaining family counselling in the town of Bar, which was established under one of the previous project and to expand it to some other activities for the empowerment of women in Montenegro.

Within the RPP programme (Regional Partnership Programme) we, in cooperation with a non-governmental organisation Svetionik from Monte Negro, opened a Family Centre in the Montenegrin coast town Bar. The purpose of the project was to stimulate gender equality in Montenegrin society. In the centre all interested parties got:

- professional help and advice by a method developed by prof. Milica Novković from Belgrade

- free day care for children of those parents who were involved in the process of additional education

- involvement of parents, especially fathers into programs that were aimed at promoting active fatherhood

APPLICATIONS: NEW INTENSIVE COURSES

We are collecting applications for intensive training courses

In April 2012 we will start organizing intensive educational programs from the fields of Theatre of the Oppressed, Documentary photography and Documentary film. All programs are free of charge.

We invite everyone to take part in the courses who would like to gain or upgrade their existing knowledge in the selected fields and would at the same time like to – through the use of art – expose social issues which are important to them. The courses are open for everyone, however priority in selection will be given to members of different ethnic minority groups, national minorities and migrants. Everyone who speaks English or Slovene can apply for the training. The language of the training will be decided afterwards taking into account the prevailing language knowledge of the participants. If necessary, simultaneous interpretation will be organized.

The participants will be offered different types of support, among other things they will be able to borrow equipment, they will have access to the digital dark room, some will be awarded grants for future development of their projects, participating in festivals and meetings, and accommodation.
