International conference "Development cooperation - quo vadis?"

 

On 26th March 2010 SLOGA, Platform for development cooperation and humanitarian aid, and Ekvilib Institute organised an international conference entitled “Development cooperation – quo vadis?”. The conference highlighted pressing issues and dilemmas related to the international development cooperation and current aid architecture. The questions raised focused on aid effectiveness, timely achievement of development goals, existence of new donors and their approaches, the role of civil society, etc.

The conference brought together representatives of NGOs, policy makers and general public.

The conference took place on March 26th 2010 in the Center of Excellence in Finance (Cankarjeva 18, Ljubljana) from 9.00 to 17.00.

International seminar on monitoring and reporting on ODA


Ekvilib Institute, in collaboration with Sloga, CONCORD and TRIALOG, organized an international seminar on monitoring and reporting on official development assistance. Seminar was held on 19 and 20 November 2007 in Ljubljana.



22 representatives of governmental and non-governmental organizations from 6 countries (Slovenia, Bulgaria, Latvia, Slovakia, Estonia and the Czech Republic) attended the seminar, among them also the French development platform and a representative of OECD DAC. Three platforms also sent presentations on their reporting on official development assistance (Hungary, Poland and Malta).



Key themes of the seminar were: what is official development assistance (ODA) and what are the current rules and criteria and the associated formal system of OECD; case studies from new Member States were presented, as well as critics, pressures and challenges associated with the ODA.

Ekvilib Institute is seeking to employ a Project officer (m/f) in the field of culture and arts to work on the project SOC-ART, co-financed with the programme – »raising employability of vulnerable groups in the field of culture and support their social inclusion within the framework of European Social Fund between 2011 and 2012.” In accordance with the goals of the program, priority for emplyoment will be given to the citizens of third countries with migrant experiences in Slovenia.
