Non-governmental sector

We are aware that NGOs play many roles as development actors and we therefore have an obligation to constantly strive to improve our own efficiency in development cooperation.

Ekvilib Institute, in accordance with its mission, is working to increase the efficiency of the NGO sector in development cooperation and promotes an approach to development cooperation in terms of human rights, in which a gradual process of empowerment of excluded and marginalised communities and individuals is a key principle. In the following months we will start with trainings for NGOs in the field of human rights and development cooperation.

On European level we monitor the development of a global initiative to increase the level of efficiency of civil society organisations in development cooperation - Open forum. As members of the Sloga we monitor the work of the group that monitors the effectiveness of development assistance by civil society organisations (CSO WG effectiveness and development cooperation) in the European NGO Confederation for Relief and Development CONCORD.
