GLOBAL SOFA (Global State OF Art) is an initiative of Ekvilib Institute and partners, focusing on promotion of art and culture as a tool and means to achieve sustainable social change on local – global level.
It focuses on the relationship between art, socio-political sphere and social justice and explores the power of creative expression in order to achieve political, social, personal and thus local – global change.
Global SOFA beginns with small steps with a desire for big changes.
Global SOFA as a meeting place:
With GLOBAL SOFA we also want to establish a virtual and real life place and a meeting point for everyone, working in the fields of arts and culture and/or human rights, global education, social justice, youth.... It is a place for everyone who use or want to use creative and imaginative strategies and methodologies in order to work towards global social change.

And finally, Global SOFA is here to inspire and excite all of you, to creatively and imaginatively act for social change, challenge the possibilities, realize new ideas, encourage actions and create the global vision of a just and inclusive world for all.

GLOBAL STATE OF ART: Theatre for global social change
… is an initiative through which we explores theatre as a tool for achieving global social change, with specific emphasis on techniques of Theatre of the Oppressed.
GLOBAL WORLD: Trough the lens of human rights
... is an initiative which promotes socially responsible use of photography as a tool for protecting and promoting human rights, and expressing a critical outlook on global social developments and processes. more
GLOBAL STATE OF ART: Socially critical film projections
... is an initiative, through which we want to raise awareness and reflection on critical global issues through the use of documentary films. The central activity is screenings of documentary films, which are followed by discussion.
