Main areas of work

Education:

We perform trainings in human rights and development cooperation to improve the capacity and expertise of different target groups involved in the development process.

Advocacy and lobbying:

We are aware that for the realization of our vision, radical changes in policies and practice in developed and developing countries are needed. Through education and advocacy, we promote greater visibility of the development challenges from the human rights perspective among decision-makers and politicians, both internationally and nationally and we are committed to the systematic integration of human rights in development policy and practice. We also systematically monitor the spending of the Slovenian budget for bilateral and multilateral development assistance to the developing countries.

Global education:

We believe that global challenges will not be effectively addressed without radical changes in countries' and individuals' habits, practice and policies. Through education we want to encourage general public to the popularization of the topics related to the development cooperation from the human rights perspective.

Non-government sector:

We strive to raise the expert level and capacities of non-governmental sector and we support the non-government actors to integrate the principles and values of human rights in their policies and practice. We also work toward strengthening and greater visibility of the civil society as an important actor in the architecture of international development cooperation.

Development projects in the developing countries:

As part of our activities we encourage, coordinate, support and implement development projects which lead to empowerment and higher level of implementation of human rights in the developing countries.

Information – documentation centre for development cooperation:

We understand information and data exchange as an important way which contributes to a higher level of implementation of human rights and a more effective and transparent orientation of development cooperation and activities associated with them. We also tend to networking and cooperation of individuals, organizations, projects and ideas in order to share best practice and joint working towards achieving development goals.
